- Primary age-related tauopathy (PART): a common pathology associated with human aging (2014, background): “This clinical cohort’s status has been termed “suspected nonAlzheimer pathophysiology” (SNAP) to distinguish it from persons with Aβ-type amyloidosis [75, 87].”
- Neuropsychological Criteria for Mild Cognitive Impairment Improves Diagnostic Precision, Biomarker Associations, and Progression Rates (2014, neutral): “subgroups of older adults with subtle cognitive decline that do not conform to expected patterns and investigators have designated them as Suspected Non-Alzheimer Pathology (SNAP) and Unclassified groups [51, 52].”
- Delayed emergence of a parkinsonian disorder or dementia in 81% of older men initially diagnosed with idiopathic rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder: a 16-year update on a previously reported series. (2013, background): “The analogy is similar to Alzheimer’s disease when no cognitive symptoms are present, but ample neuritic plaques and neurofibrillary tangles are present at postmortem histopathologic examination [24,25].”

- A/T/N: An unbiased descriptive classification scheme for Alzheimer disease biomarkers (2016, neutral): “A popular approach has been to select cutpoints based on the (most normal) 10th percentile of values seen in typical AD dementia.(21,55) Validating specific cutpoints will be an ongoing exercise for research groups working in each separate modality.”
- Tau and Aβ imaging, CSF measures, and cognition in Alzheimer's disease (2016, neutral): “Aβ–, tau– corresponds to healthy aging without pathology; Aβ+,tau– corresponds to Stage 1 preclinical disease; Aβ+, tau+ corresponds to Stage 2 preclinical disease (23, 24).”
