The so-called hidden-order state in URu2Si2 is further obscured by conflicting experimental observations. A first-principles calculation shows that an order parameter with real and imaginary parts can explain many of these conflicts.

- Continuous-time Monte Carlo methods for quantum impurity models (2010, methodology): “This ability has been used in a recent paper to gain important new insights into the “hidden order” phase of the heavy fermion material URu2Si2 (Haule and Kotliar, 2009).”
- Colloquium: Hidden order, superconductivity, and magnetism: The unsolved case of URu 2 Si 2 (2011, methodology): “Very recently, an antiferro ordering of time-even hexadecapoles was proposed as HO parameter by Haule and Kotliar (2009) and a ferromagnetically aligned (Q = 0) time-odd triakontadipolar HO parameter was proposed by Cricchio et al. (2009).”
