We present a controllability result for a class of linear parabolic systems of 3 equations. To prove the result, we establish a global Carleman estimate for the solutions of a system of 2 coupled parabolic equations with first order terms. We also obtain stability results for the identification of coefficients of the systems.

- Indirect controllability of some linear parabolic systems of m equations with m − 1 controls involving coupling terms of zero or first order (2016, background): “The last result concerning first order coupling terms is the recent work [15], where the case of 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 systems with one control force is studied under some technical assumptions.”
