Abstract This chapter discusses the importance of multi-environment trials (METs) in new crop cultivar release and recommendation. The problems posed by differential genotype responses in different environments (genotype environment interactions) in cultivar evaluation are discussed and improvements in the methods used for MET data analysis are presented. The rationale and applications of the GGE-biplot methodology in MET data analysis are also pointed out.
