In this article we will analyze some data that demonstrate that emotional intelligence is a set of skills that teachers should learn for two reasons: (1) because classrooms are the adult socio-emotional learning model with the greatest impact for students and (2 ) because research is showing that adequate levels of emotional intelligence help to cope more successfully with everyday setbacks and work stress that teachers face in the educational context.
