The objective of the present work is to revise and critically discuss the resilience concept defined as the capacity of psychological recovery of the human being before adversity, violence and catastrophes in life. In modern society, that changes faster and deeper, demanding constant adaptation efforts and, therefore turning the resilience into a challenge to the new millennium. The analyzed phenomenon lead to the conclusion that the resilience should not be part of a ideological conceptual group, on the contrary it rises from the sense that is attributed to the human existence, that is to say, for the capacity to make affective and  professional liaisons and still for the existence of a life project.
