- Transcendence of Periods: The State of the Art (2006, methodology): “Anderson introduced the notion of soliton, which, according to [14], is a higher dimensional version of the shtuka function for rank 1 Drinfeld modules.”
- Algebraic independence of periods and logarithms of Drinfeld modules (with an appendix by Brian Conrad) (2010, result): “In analogy with the de Rham cohomology for elliptic curves, Anderson, Deligne, Gekeler, and Yu developed a de Rham theory for Drinfeld modules, which characterizes isomorphism classes of extensions of Drinfeld modules by Ga (see [5, 13, 22, 26]).”
