If X is a smooth affine variety of dimension d over an algebraically closed field k, and if (d−1)!∈k× then any stably trivial vector bundle of rank (d−1) over X is trivial. The hypothesis that X is smooth can be weakened to X is normal if d≥4.

- Hermitian K-theory, derived equivalences and Karoubi's fundamental theorem (2012, methodology): “Results of this article have already been used in [FS09], [Zib11], [PW10], in the solution of a conjecture of Suslin on the structure of stably free projective modules [FRS12] and in the solution of a conjecture of Williams and the analog of the Quillen-Lichtenbaum conjecture for hermitian K-theory ”
